I’m in a show this weekend: Automatic!

If’n you’re in the SF bay area, I hight suggest checking out this group show bennifiting RoboGames 2010. (Disclaimer: I am in the show, but so are a heck of a lot of other great artists).
Automatic for the people.
Do sentient machines dwell on the existential circuit
that leads to the spiritual 404 error?
Does being a machine mean just being a device:
literarily, artistically and literally?
Or does everything just boil down to everyone’s deep-seated need to crush all humans and plot eventual total world domination?
Find out at Automatic!

Come see me at APE
It’s that time again- the Alternative Press Expo is happening next weekend at the concourse exhibition center at 7th and brannan.
(comic-con.org)
APE is a convention for indie/diy publishers. Cartoonists from across the country, proffesional and not, sell their books, crafts, and art. A vast majority of these works are hand-made and not available in stores anywhere; many never see second printings.
This event has been huge influence on me (and every cartoonist I know) for the last 10 years. It was the first show of its kind and still of the largest. I started attending when I was 15 and have been exhibiting for the last 5. This show is comprised almost entirely of artists, not distributors or stores. Often the people selling the books are the artists that drew, wrote, copied and stapled the books themselves.
Even if you would normally not have interest in comics at all, I urge you to come. There is art, crafts, and a varietty of amazing unique hand-mades.
I’ve been working every spare moment to have a slew of cool art for you- I’ll have 3 new books, original paintings, prints, and more. I’ll be at table 531 with pal DocPop. I would really love to see you come to this event that means so much to me.
Upcoming (Working so hard for you)

(poster by pal Doc Pop)
If it were possible to actually work butts away, mine would be leaving the keys on the table and on its way out the door. I’ve been mad-crazy draw-cartooning lately, and the madness will continue.
I have to major upcoming events that I’d like to tell you about. The first is 24 Hour Comics Day, which I will be doing at Mission Comics and Art. 24HCD, originally conceived by Scott McCloud, is a challenge to cartoonists: conceive, write, draw and finish a 24 page comic book in a consecutive 24 hour stretch. It’s a great exercise, and at the end of the day, you have a whole book. Its an amazing to see that much (hopefully) accomplished in that time frame.
The second is A.P.E., the Alternative Press Expo. I’ll be exhibiting at booth #531, on the right hand aisle in the back. I will have new comics, original paintings, and much more for sale! Come visit!
